How to fit our blackout blinds

What you’ll need:

Fitting our blackout blinds couldn’t be easier. You don’t need to be a dab-hand at DIY or have fancy drill bits and rawl plugs to get them in place. All you need in order to get started is a pen or pencil (to measure where to cut the blind) and a pair of scissors or a craft knife (to cut the blind).

How to fit them:

Once you’ve got everything you need, it’s time to create your very own made to measure blackout blind in 5 simple steps:

  1. Remove the blind from the box and hold it up against the window you want to fit it to.
  2. Take your pen or pencil, and mark on the blind exactly where you need to cut to make the blind fit the window. Take special care here – because you want the blackout effect, ensure that your measurement is as accurate as possible.
  3. Take your scissors or craft knife and cut along your marked line.

4. Peel the adhesive tape off the back of the blind.

5. Press firmly to stick the blind down in the desired position.

And just like that, you have a fitted blackout blind! To improve your new stick on blackout blind further, you could add Velcro for blinds to keep the blind securely in place, or clips to allow you to have the blind in multiple positions, rather than just opened or closed. All our blinds come with two clips to accommodate this.
