James Caan seeks out the most entrepreneurial university

London, UK (11/09/09) Serial entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star, James Caan is launching a new competition promoting entrepreneurship among students in the new academic year. The competition, -’James Caan Student Spirit Awards’- will allow entrepreneurial societies around the UK to compete for the title of the most the most entrepreneurial student society in the UK.

Participating university societies will be provided with stock of Blinds in a Box at no cost and students will compete within each university in teams to see which team can sell the most BlindsinaBox. the winning team will be rewarded by their university. The university which collectively sells the most will be Recognised and Rewarded by James Caan as the most Entrepreneurial University in the country.

For every blind sold the societies will earn commission, allowing universities to earn funding organically and also provides an exciting way to learn about real entrepreneurship.

BLINDSINABOX’ is one of James Caan and Duncan Bannatyne’s previous investments on the BBC 2 TV series, Dragons’ Den. The company produce cheap, temporary blinds that are easy to install and require no tools. They are perfect for students as they fulfil the dual purpose of blocking out light and increasing privacy at a low cost.

“This competition encourages young people to think like entrepreneurs. My own early experiences were vital to my later success and I wanted to give students the chance to develop entrepreneurial skills early on.’ commented James Caan.
